His concern for nature, the human being and the need for the search of resources drove him to study biology at the University of Seville. His other training includes various specialized courses in biochemistry, chemistry, and restoration of natural areas. He has also taught special Lectures on Anatomy in collaboration with the ARTANA research group at the University of Fine Arts of Seville.
His knowledge and interventions in the world of art and the visual arts such as photography, music, computer graphics and installations are evident in several group exhibitions, such as “Inside - Outside” Seville 2006, “Proyecto de fusión cultural en el parque Victoria Kent” Camas, Seville 2010, “Diosa Fortuna” Seville 2010, “ARTANA IX” and “COLONIES” Toledo 2011
For Fernando, art is a way to introduce the viewer to biology, especially to disciplines such as microbiology and virology. By doing this, he hopes to awaken concern and curiosity about science in an increasingly modern world that moves rapidly in fields such as biotechnology and biomedicine.
As a Master of Virology at the Complutense University of Madrid he has done extensive research in The HIV-1 co-receptor usage in non-B genetic forms at the Carlos III Health Institute, where he was doing phylogenetic studies of the present AIDS virus in Northern Spain.
He is currently working in Toronto, Canada, as an Instructor at York University, opening new frontiers in other countries.

O + R is a multidisciplinary team of professionals from different fields and specializations. Since 2003, their aim is to see the emergence of multi-scale works proposing a universal and individual point of view, developing and using different artistic media to preserve the spirit of creation.
The O + R team works to present a subjective reality at various scales that interrogate the spectator, presenting them with new facets of their environment. The techniques and topics of the studio aim to activate the viewers in expressive terms. Transforming the viewer " into an echo " as a reflection of the different appearances mediated through their environment, through processes of physical and temporal distortion.
